The New Kid on the Block: Agri-Can Supply

Agri-Can Supply

When you’re the new kid on the block, you’ve got a lot to learn. Everyone already has their cliques, and you’re just trying to figure out where you fit — and who’s going to let you sit at their table.

In this industry, the first thing I learned was that everyone knows Ron. Seriously. He had more friends than the head cheerleader at your high school — and he didn’t even need pom-poms to do it. The second thing I learned? Most of the best machinery comes straight out of the Ferrari promised land: Italy.

So, with the ink still wet on Agri-Can Supply’s papers, our first move was clear: try to team up with the suppliers that Tram Sales had worked with.

Tram-Flex Chain Harrows – The biggest, thickest, bestest chain harrows out there. They’re like the football team friends you always wanted — big, strong, and always ready to back you up.

Spedo – Believe it or not, there’s a company that makes equipment tough enough to demine a field (yes, explosives) and then turn around and pick potatoes. That’s Spedo. Not everyone’s in the potato game, but if you are, they’re the dependable call.

SICMA – Who makes the best rotary tillers in the world? SICMA. The best power harrows? SICMA. The best flail mowers, mulchers, and has a company that starts with the letter “S”? Yup, SICMA again.

COSMO –  The cool kid that somehow gets along with everyone. “Need a spreader? No problem.” COSMO’s got you covered.

Sitrex – Hay! (Sorry, couldn’t resist.) These are the smooth-talking kings of rakes and hay tools. Right now we’re in more of a “parts-only” relationship, but we’re still trying to charm them into something long-term.

Maschio – After four months of meetings, endless PowerPoints, and even sitting down with the CEO, we broke up. It was totally mutual, of course.

MacFarlane – That relationship ended before my time, but it still makes the yearbook.

And there you have it: Agri-Can Supply. The new kid in town, finding our groove, making friends, and maybe ruffling a few feathers along the way.

Next time: my first sale, and the time someone thought I was Vietnamese. Stay tuned.
